If you’ve been looking for us, thank you for waiting.

For a while, our website quietly disappeared.
Looking back now, it almost feels fitting that its story began the same way many of our ideas do—not in a straight line, but with a few unexpected turns along the way.
It was during the pandemic when we first decided it was finally time for Gav & Sav to have a home beyond Instagram and Facebook.
Even then, we already had someone in mind to help us build it. Life simply had other plans, and the timing wasn’t quite right.
So, like many things that happened during those years, the story took an unexpected turn.
One of our clients reached out.
She had followed our work for some time and believed more people should discover Gav & Sav. When she learned we were hoping to build a website, she generously offered to help.
We sat down with sheets of paper and began sketching.
Not polished designs.
Just simple drawings showing where things might go, how pages could flow, and how we hoped the website would feel.

A week later, those sketches had become our very first website.

We offered what we could in return, and she graciously accepted, knowing those were difficult times for everyone.
What she gave us, though, was far more than a website.
She gave Gav & Sav its first home beyond Instagram and Facebook.
For a few years, that little website quietly welcomed visitors from around the world. It became a place where people could browse our collections, learn about our work, and discover a little studio they may never have found otherwise.
Eventually, her own journey led her into corporate life, leaving less room for the work she had so generously shared with us.
She gave us plenty of time to prepare for the transition.
By then, the person we had originally hoped to work with was finally available.
It felt like the story had gently found its way back to where it had first wanted to go.

But rebuilding a website, we soon discovered, isn’t simply about rebuilding pages.
While our new home was slowly taking shape behind the scenes, the studio quietly kept moving forward.
Pens were still being wrapped. Notebook covers continued to evolve.
Sketches appeared on recycled scraps of paper before finding their way into fabric.
Some ideas stayed exactly as they were first imagined. Others slowly became something entirely different somewhere between the sketch, the scissors, and the sewing machine.
We also found ourselves noticing different things.
Morning light on the worktable.
A curious cat wandering through the studio.
The tiny fabric cut-offs that seemed too beautiful to throw away.
A pot of basil growing just outside.
Those small moments gradually became part of our creative process too.

Notebook covers have been part of Gav & Sav for many years. We had already explored different sizes, reversible designs, and even the occasional appliqué long before the website quietly disappeared. But over the past year, those ideas found a deeper purpose.
Our commitment to creating with as little waste as possible encouraged us to look differently at the smallest pieces left behind on the worktable. Instead of seeing scraps, we began seeing possibilities.

Little by little, they became appliqué animals—each one giving a notebook cover its own quiet personality while making thoughtful use of materials that might otherwise have gone unused.
Some of you may remember our Purr-fectly Reversible and Paw-somely Reversible notebook covers. Looking back now, they quietly hinted at where this journey was leading.
Since then, those little characters have continued to grow. So have the stories behind them.

Perhaps that’s the biggest change of all.
The stories were always there.
The sketches. The conversations around the worktable. The fabrics waiting to be paired. The careful adjustments made halfway through a piece. The hands learning new stitches. The tiny moments that quietly shaped each design.
We simply hadn’t invited anyone into those moments before.
Over time, we realized that handmade work isn’t only about what eventually leaves the studio. It’s also about everything that happens before that.
The wondering. The experimenting. The changing of minds. The quiet decisions no one else usually sees. If you’ve followed us on Instagram recently, you’ve probably noticed more of those moments finding their way into our stories. Not because we’ve changed how we make things.
Only because we’ve begun sharing more of the journey that has always been there. That spirit is shaping this website too.
You won’t find everything here all at once.

We’re building it the same way we build everything else.
One page at a time.
One collection at a time.
One story at a time.
Alongside our collections, you’ll also find this journal.
Some entries will introduce new work. Some will share pieces of our process. Others may begin with something as ordinary as a sketch on recycled paper, a handful of fabric scraps, or a quiet moment in the garden.
Because around here, those things are often connected. This website is still growing.
So are we.
Thank you for finding us again.
Whether you’ve been with us since the beginning or have only just discovered our little corner of the world, we’re grateful you’re here.
Welcome back.
We’re looking forward to sharing what comes next— one quiet story at a time.
